Movie Monday

365 Cards Day 184, and Movie Monday has to feature 'Pretty In Pink'.
Now I have never seen this movie so googled it and read about 2 sentences to get a quick idea. I didn't want to read too much as I would then get bogged down with 'stuff'.
Basic Grey 'Sugared' papers were used and I stamped this great PaperArtsy image in Adirondack 'Raisin'.
A couple of men were found in the shape of old cigarette cards by 'Vintage Memories'
I distressed the edges of the pink card as it was probably a distressing situation.
A couple of metal corners by Scrapbook Basics for the male and lace for the female.

Super Sketchy Sunday

And here we are again at the start of another week , where does time go?
At 365 Cards today we had the usual great sketch to follow which has the ability to turn round and bite you on the butt when you think you have it sussed.
Why do I find these simpler sketches sooooo hard?
It started with a die cut pocket by Linda Maron 'Mod Designs', well it looked sort of diamond shaped!....shut your eyes and imagine..lol!!
Then I found some paper bits out of my leftovers box to match the colours, the green being Kay & Co...aha! it was the edge piece with the name on the back....that's a bonus.
And an Anna Griffin card blank in lilac was the perfect base.
Some purple organza ribbon tied in a bow so I could use the tails and I had the sketch sorted.
But I added a Linda Maron metal word doodad which says 'Dream' to hold the ribbon tails down and inside the flap I used some Doodlebug rub-ons to say 'take time to..'
So there is a slight deviation from the sketch, but only a tiny one and there we have it a start of another week over at 365 Cards

Sporty Saturday

It has been a sporty saturday what with the F1 qualifying, the rugby and the football, very enjoyable, I do love my sport.

So onto my card making for today which is very little, I've usually got more done than this.

A little sporty number for 365 Cards Day 182 which had to feature a ball of any kind on it, so I have a football and the colours for the scarf and cap are for Liverpool!
This image is a great download from Pink Petticoat and the background is a download from French Frog 'Joey'. The flower stamp is by Stamps Away and the little birdie Hero Arts. The sentiment is part of the turtle image. I coloured the images with a mix of Copics and PM's
The base card is Lakeland's Kraft

This card will also cover challenges over at :-
Stamp Something Challenge - Animal Something
Saturday Challenge - Flights of fancy (anything with wings)

365 x 2

Time for a bit of a catch up over at 365 Cards after a wonderful day yesterday at the wedding of my son Barney and his beautiful fiancee Elen. I only took a few terrible snapshots as my camera is so old and I had to do them from wherever I was sitting at the time. So I will show some better ones when I get the official photographer ones.
So on with what I have been catching up with
Day 180 - Going Vintage, so a vintage image needed here
Day 181 - White Space, a given sketch where only the black portions could be decorated however we want
180

The vintage image is from a misc. pictorial rubber stamp. Which led to me getting out my Anna Griffin vintage looking paper and some lace. I finished off with some glittery stickers from my stash adding a little piece of pink ribbon and a word sticker by Kay & Co.

181
I thought border stamps when I saw the sketch and dug out these ancient SU stamps (1998) which I inked up wuth Versafine Onyx black and coloured with PM's and Copics, I had fun doing this as colouring always takes me back to my childhgood.
The lettering was from some oddment of rub-ons and a few dots with a pen. I smooshed round the edges of the card pieces with Adirondack 'Meadow'

Trick or Treat

365 Cards Day 179 -Checkerboard Background.
So, so busy today so this is a quickie card.
It's my son's wedding tomorrow and I have been finishing off the Wedding card and making a box to hold the voucher holder I made as a gift. Then I have been punching out hundreds of little hearts to use as confetti....Grrr!!! how many times did that punch jam up!!
So the card was just a mash of things out of my box that fitted in with the challenge.
Hope I can sleep tonight I am sooooo excited.

Hitting The Books

365 Cards Day 178 - 'Back To School'
I am feeling a lot less sore today after my fall on sunday, and I thank everyone who has left a comment regarding this. You are generous with your concern. xx

So on to the card for today.
This was not relevant to me at all as I have no young children in the family, but not wanting a gap in my week did a card for my Grandson Jake who is 16 and starts College in Sept. He won't want a card and will probably greet it with a blank expression, but that's teenagers for you...Ha!Ha!!!!

I used 7 Gypsies Gaffer tape and Paper Artsy ruler ribbon across a misc. paper from my box , the pattern sort of looks like mobile phones or cellphones I think you call them in the US.
The great stamp is by PSX Santa Rosa and we are all a cat-mad family so might just get a comment from him on that.
I inked it up with Versafine Onyx Black and coloured one of the books with PM Canary to give it a pop of colour.
The wording was cut from a sheet of Kay & Co School Days.
So not bad for an irrelevant challenge.

Monogram

365 Cards Day 177 - Monogram Monday
Feeling very sore after my fall yesterday.
So just a quickie that apart from the Kraft base card and Basic Grey die cut letter G used bits out of my leftovers box only.

Thanks for looking.

Super Sketchy Sunday 176

Well, what a palava I've had today! I must have been watching too much athletics on the TV and decided that the lawn mower looked a good possibility for a hurdling session when I was going down the path to hang my washing out....you quessed it, not a good move, and landed flat out on the path, knickers and pegs adorning the grass. Now this was one scary moment as I had knee replacement surgery at Christmas and it's not the thing to be happening.
I'm pretty banged about and aching from top to toe, but us crafters have to soldier on regardless
So it's.....

The start of another week over at
365 Cards
These sketches are always deceiving. They look simple but then I find I'm struggling to make the card look anything like acceptable.

The papers used were a great piece out of my box which was lilac with lime green spots but hasn't scanned well at all. The floral corner is cut from a piece of Kay & Co.
I added a Kay & Co 'Romanza' embossed die cut butterfly and used a clear sparkle Sakura pen to highlight parts of the butterfly and the flowers, all of which has not scanned either.
The piece of pink lace and lilac buttons from my stash.
Well I am off to rest my sore bones in bed and just hope I am able to move in the morning.
So goodnight all, and TFL. :-)

Stampin' Saturday

365 Cards Day 175 - Layering stamps, not masking
This will also fit for Crafty Creations Challenge # 29 - 'Tags'

Inks - Tim Holtz Distress Inks in 'Tea Dye' and 'Walnut Stain'
Paper from Costco
Card blank - Kraft from Lakeland
Cotton twine
I still feel I need to put something else on it, like a button!..lol!!!

Just Peachy

A card to cover 2 challenges
365 Cards Day 174 - Peach to be the dominant colour
Mojo Monday Sketch 100

I do love a vintage look and so many very arty people do some wonderful work which I am in awe of. So I dug out one of my old vintage style stamps ...another eBay find, and got to work....whether the result is vintage or arty is in the eye of the beholder...lol!!...but I've had a try at it.

Base Card - SU Kraft
Papers - My Mind's Eye 'Bloom & Grow'
Stamp - Misc. um
Ink - Tim Holtz 'Walnut Stain'
Peach Die-cut sticker - Kay & Co 'Romanza' Images
Peach satin ribbon and rub-on from my stash

Fiskars small square hand held punch to make the hole for the ribbon to go through.
I loved using these colours for a change and am pleased I found the die-cut peach sticker :)

Always & Forever.....

Hopefully this card will cover 3 challenges if I am not too late.
365 Cards Day 173 - Mixed Message - to incorporate 3 ways to create 1 sentiment
Sketch Saturday #61 - Given sketch
Daring Cardmakers - Lace
This was a great sketch and needed a bit of guidance today.
Interesting challenge on 365 Cards and was able to complete that with the word Always being a rub-on & being a mini tag and Forever I printed out using my Dymo Letra Tag
The lace used was paper lace, I forget the make.
Ribbon strip and Papers - Laura Ashley 'Contemporary
Gems - Hero Arts
Velvet Brad and flowers from my stash
Image - Penny Black
Colouring medium - PM's Sandstone, Vanilla, Satin, Ice Grey 1, Coold Grey 1 and Cool Grey 5 and Copic - Blush

ABC's & 123's

365 Cards Day 172
Alpha stickers and at least 1 number to be used

This was playtime for me.
At first I found it a hard challenge but once I started playing with my stickers I was back to my childhood.
I did have to get some semblance of order on the card though.
I covered the card blank with Kraft paper from Lakeland.
The large letter stickers are Basic Grey 'Sublime' and the smaller layered stickers are Linda Maron Mod Monograms.
The small round letter stickers are from QVC
The number, which being a word I hope is acceptable, is by Tim Holtz
All papers are out of my bits box.

Trio

365 Cards Day 171 - Trio Challenge
So the idea is to incorporate into the card
A triangle
A sticker
A button

And having a button this card will fit in nicely with ABC Challenge -B for Button(s) I hope 1 button will suffice :)

And because I am late (to me, anyway) this is a clean & simple type card.
I adore this triangle stamp which I got off eBay years ago and haven't used for a while...great for this challenge.
Used Versafine Onyx Black to ink it up.
Mounted it onto plain pink card.
The floral frame is actually a cardstock sticker by Kelly Panacci and the sentiment is a sticker also by Bo-Bunny Press so take your pick :)
and the button is by Hero Arts...voila!!!..job done!
ribbon and black textured card from my stash.

Crafting in the night................

Well I was up until 1.30am last night finishing this and then I lost internet connection...which made me very grumpy...so here it is, for what it's worth..which was blood, sweat and tears.

365 Cards Day 170 - 'Double Duty'
Which means it has to double as a gift or something else at least, but no voucher holders!

I have been gathering seeds over the summer from my garden - what summer? - and had the idea to pass them on so this challenge lit up a light bulb in my head.
I made a sort of concertina book to hold all the little packets of seeds so lovingly collected.

Ingredients:-
2 pieces of grey card for front and back frrom my bottomless box
6 Vellum envelopes
large peice of Kraft wrapping paper
PP's - Basic Grey 'Offbeat'
Sentiments - a mix of Clarity Stamps, Hero Arts, and computer generated
Floral images - Penny Black 'Christmas Colour'(front cover) and Great Impressions (back cover)
Paper to cover front and back boards - a lovely piece of Mango Soft
Ribbon - Grograin: SU 'Always Artichoke' silk: Anna Griffin
Tags from my stash

Being so late in the night and so tired I just snapped away with my camera at my work table, so apologies, as always, for the poor pics.

One day I will surprise you with the most amazing photography, but the cards will still be the same..lol!!

Apologies, as usual, for the poor photo. Card wouldn't scan because of the bulkyness, I have made myself a light box, but haven't the lamps you need to light it from the sides. Far too expensive this game...LOL!!

Great sketch as always over at 365.

Mellow Yellow

This card is to cover the following challenges :-
Friday Sketchers 65 - given sketch
Crafty Creations 28 - Yellow
ABC Challenge - 3rd time round....A for Anything goes plus An Additional Animal if you want

This was a great sketch and I enjoyed using yellow for a change.
I also look forward to trying to do the whole alphabet this time around.

Supplies:-
Stamped Image - Stamping Bella 'Kittycatabella'
Papers - Basic Grey 'June Bug' & 'Lemonade'
All other items from my stash

Touch of Toile

365 Cards - Day 168
I think I may be able to combine this with Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge too - 'Fancy Corners'....will 1 corner count I wonder? :)
What a wonderful challenge this turned out to be as I dug out my box of Anna Griffin stash and used it all on the card....just remembered I have forgotten to glitter, I know we didn't have to but I did wanted to glitter around some of the paper just with some Stickles to give it a bit of bling, so take it from me girls that is what I will be doing after the event.
The Anna Griffin ribbon for this was from a set called 'Hannah' and I love it. The lace corner is 'Georgette'.
Don't we get used to clear stamps....I had great trouble trying to stamp this wood mounted A.G. one and to get it central, but hand crafted cards aren't meant to be perfect are they?
The only thing that is not Anna Griffin is the little MoP button and the thread.
I stamped up the frame with Versamagic Chalk Ink in 'Niagara Mist'
I used a Clean & Simple Sketch #55

'Gift' Card

365 Cards - Day 167
The card is the gift.
i.e. Make your card look like a gift.

Just did what comes natural. Tied ribbon around a square card to look like a present. But firstly I stamped the 4 Hero Arts Poetic Petal stamps in Adirondack 'Denim' onto ready made masked off squares of Memories soft mauve and Colorbox Chalk Wisteria... mounted the stamped white card onto blue pearly card and then onto the base card... spotty organza ribbon a little tag finished the look.
I am sooooooooooo tired and off to my bed........g'night all. xxx

Recipe...

365 Cards - Day 166 ---- Card Recipe!
and this is just perfect for
Crafty Cardmakers 1st challenge - Blossoms

Oh! I love recipes as it tells you when to stop as I do suffer, sometimes, from the inability to observe the rule of 'Less is More'

The ingredients for this recipe are :-

4" x 7" card
5 Blossoms
Glitter
Wet embossed sentiment
3 different patterned papers

Good card size to use for a change and I used just bog-standard green card for this....No Bazzill????....well this card was already cut to the stated size and was the starting point for the whole thing :) The stripey and spotty papers are misc. out of my stash, but the floral paper, of which I cut around the pattern, is Basic Grey LilyKate.
The 5 blossoms were all mounted one on top of the other to make 1 bloom, then I thought Ah!!... no brad can be used to hold it together, so just got to work with DST to stick each one and then used a good blob of glue and sprinkled glitter into the centre of the flower to give it a centre. The largest of the blooms is a Flourish Flower by Imaginisce.
I also drew around some of the swirls on the paper and some of the dotty pattern with a glue pen and sprinkled the glitter all over that. The glitter being Stampendous Ultra Fine.
I then stamped the Hero Arts sentiment in purple pigment ink and heat embossed it with clear emb. powder.
Another challenge completed, just wish I could go back and get some older ones done too, but that is expecting too much of my poor brain....lol!!

The scan does not show up the glitter or the shiny embossing unfortunately so you will just have to use your lovely imaginations.
Thank you for reading this far. xxx

Shape Up!

365 Cards - Day 165
A star must be the dominant shape on the card.
So using a star stamp, star spangled ribbon and paper and a star charm says I did the challenge. :)
The stamp was an old freebie off Craft Stamper magazine and I stamped it 3 times with Adirondack 'Red Pepper' and decoupaged different elements cut from each stamping.
The papers are HOTP. I was being quite brave here using pink and red and I distressed the edges of the red star paper and this is the first time I have done this. I used a Quik Unpick out of my sewing box. A tip I picked up from somewhere. The pink paper I cut and embossed with one of my Nestie Labels
I did add glitter, although it isn't a compulsory element. The top star has Stickles 'Sequins' added to it.
All other bits and bobs are out of my stash.
The only card I have made today, sadly, as my back is particularly bad because I went shopping.....hey ho!!!
