Peek-a-Boo to You

365 Cards Day 152
This was to create a card with a fun flap somewhere on the card.
Oh! how I had fun making this today.
It's left me worn out though!!

It took me a long time to come up with the idea, but once I came upon the book of ephemera amongst all my dated stash, which has the date of 2004 on it and never been used, I knew where I was going with this. The 6 x 6 book is by Plaid and called Paper Journeys.
The stripey paper is by Laura Ashley and the idea behind using that was to resemble deck chair canvas.
I started with 5 little pages, but thought that a little over generous and cut it down to 3, which is plenty enough. These pages show all the adults having fun on their holiday by the sea. So the poor little chappie on the front has every right to be down in the dumps and want his friends.
I edged the pages and card with Tim Holtz Distress Ink Pad in Tea Dye and don't know why I do this, everyone else who does it achieves the desired effect...me?...nah!! always looks liked I've slipped with the pad and it looks messy.
I also dug out more peel-offs for the hinges. I will not throw these away, after buying them all those years ago I am determined they will be used. Frugal, that's me.....waste not, want not!!
Ribbons, sentiment tag and flat backed pearls (why use those?...'cos I can :D) from my stash.

A Certain Sentiment....

A card done today to cover
365 Cards Day 151 - to use the sentiment 'You Can Do It!'
The Pink Elephant # 25 - given sketch

A great sketch to use from TPE which always helps when mojo is low.
I had to think about this sentiment for quite a while and on rummaging through my box of image swaps came upon this one which looks to be from Hero Arts and the wording on the image is "With peace upon my wings, I shall fly around the World" which I thought was just perfect for this challenge.
I used Craft-T chalks to colour the image, and papers from Kay & Co. Tim Coffey Travel/Vacation . 3 pieces of card candy in a nice sandy colour and starfish charm finished it off. I used Doodlebug rub ons onto a little tag for the sentiment and added a little piece of cotton thread.

An Eye for an 'I'..........

365 Cards - Day 150
So a homophone is to be used in the sentiment.
Plodded all day with this, trying to think of something that may be different, I will know when I check everyone elses out. :D

I brayered a piece of glossy card with Adirondack 'Noel' - the greeny end.
I stamped my lovely Clarity deer stamp in 'Woodland' and the grasses and hanging vine stamps in 'Bottle'.
Top and bottom I put a run of DCWV 'Old World' ribbon and the sentiment I printed off in Word. Which I sponged - again- in 'Woodland'

I think the card may have looked ok until I plonked the sentiment on, could have done a better job of that methinks...hey ho!!

A technique revisited...

365 Cards - Day 149
Sponging

This will also fit in with the challenge over at Charisma Cardz #29 'Tag It'
As you can see from my card this is a trip back in time. It is that long since I've done any sponging the technigue has not evolved for me. I daresay this needs further time looking into but this is my quick offering for today.

I shall *whisper* that I dug out some old peel-offs and placed them randomly on a piece of white card.
I then sponged with Adirondack Butterscotch, Pesto and Red Pepper until I was happy. On removing the said peel-offs the pale shadowy images are left behind.
I tore this piece of card and edged it in Adirondack Ginger.
This was stuck to the green base card which looks like Bazzill, but not sure.
I made another piece of card into a tag, placed a Basic Grey sticky Letter 'F' and sponged with the same colours again. I then added a rub-on to marry the letter. I found it hard to apply the rub-on over the ink. :/
This was then placed onto a piece of chocolate brown card and cut around. Made a hole with a punch and added a piece of misc. brown loopy ribbon which I also put down the side of the card, hopefully to bring it all together.
This looks like something I would have made 10 years ago lol!!

Super Sketchy Sunday 148

It's the start of another week over at 365 Cards which means another great sketch.

Ingredients :-
Base card - Kraft card from Lakeland [ from forum buddy Looby ;)]
Stamps - Hero Arts Dot Border and Hampton Arts Novel Background, sentiment stamp misc.
Inks - Orange and white pigment inks
Papers - freebie from magazine
Flowers - a mix of Primas
and brad from my stash

I stamped the Kraft card all over with the dot border and orange ink then overstamped with the text stamp in white ink.
I used a pair of campasses to cut out the circle.
Sentiment stamped using Versafine Onyx Black.

Fashion

This card was done for Chocoholic's Friday Challenge on my Crafting Forum
It just had to be anything to do with fashion and I have had this stamp for ages and it hasn't seen the light of day for a number of years....shameful.
It's by Crafting Pastimes
Sentiment stamp by Inkadinkadoo.
Both stamped with Versafine Onyx Black which is my favoured ink pad.
The image was coloured using PM's Pastel Yellow & Lime for the clothes and Raw Sienna for the hair and Copics Pinkish White & Blush for the flesh.
The floral paper is Basic Grey 'Scarlet's Letter' and the top piece of paper which I have cut around the swirl pattern is out of my bits box.
Ribbon DCWV
Base card from my stash
This image reminds me of the late fifties and I wore girls versions of this sort of style with lots of net petticoats underneath to make it stick out. You could get petties with hoops in and even a sponge foam one....lol!!...ah! those were the days. :)

Scraplift Saturday

365 Cards Day 147
To select one of the DT's cards and scraplift it.

Boy Oh! Boy!! I struggled with this.
I chose one of lovely Amy's cards and although I just about did it, I couldn't take a decent photo of it. Poor photo, sorry.
The papers I chose were some lovely vintagy Anna Griffin florals. I really enjoyed making the flower and scrunched it up an teased into frilly pleats then edges each layer with Orange glitter glue. The sentiment is by Hero Arts and I didn't have what Amy used as the main card but used thick parchment instead.

Mirror Me!

365 Cards - Day 146
The idea was to create symmetry on your card.
Harder than I thought.
So had to keep it clean and simple.
Corner Sentiment stamp by Clarity stamps was ideal for stamping twice to create the square. I used Adirondack in 'Denim'
A Delft tile was mounted on dimensionals in the centre.
Sticky backed ribbon by Anita's was then stuck down around the 4 sides and this is when you find out you haven't quite cut out a completely square card...lol!!

365 Cards Catch Up

Day 143/144 Combo - 'Keep It To Yourself - Sympathy', NO sentiment on the front./ 'You Raise Me Up' card to show 2 ways of using dimension
For 143 I used Tapestry stamps image and cut around to suggest a wreath and used a stamped rose (misc.) in the centre, just finished off with a piece of navy grograin ribbon.
For 144 I mounted the rose on dimensionals to lift but also used Glossy Accents to suggest dew drops on the rose and leaves.

Day 145 - 'Ad Inspired' super picture of a pillow which we were to use to give us inspiration for our card.

Missing but not Lost

After 3.5 days without a modem I am going to be playing catch up big time.
I went into meltdown without my cyber fix and glad my new router didn't take the 5 days to arrive as was a possibility.
So this late card is for:-
365 Cards Day 142 Movie Monday -
To interpret the movie 'Twilight'
and
Charysma Cardz Thursday #28 sketch, but am now late for this
Well for 365 CardsI haven't read the books or seen the movie so went by my gut instinct of someone mentioning vampire and the colour of the pic posted.
The specific for this was :-
Black card base, paper to be predominently red and to add glitter or gems....hope I've remembered that correctly.
PP - Basic Grey 'Scarlet's Letter'
Sentiment - portion of a Hero Arts stamp 'Inspirational Prints'
Ink Pad - Brilliance 'Moonlight White' - very apt.
Everything else from my stash

365 Cards - Day 141

Super Sketchy Sunday today and here is the sketch.
This was lovely and painless.
Feeling below par atm, like the golf I'm watching. lol!!

But as I type this the sun is starting to shine which makes a blessed relief from the amount of rain we have had lately, so much for our summer!!!
Anyway, I digress....the starting point for this card was the Nestie die cut scalloped oval in two sizes....the only two left in my box of spares. So that shade of pink dictated the rest of the card.
The Card stock is Bazzill Basics, not sure of the shade. The pp's are HOTP, years old, but I throw nothing away, so sometimes you may think my cards look a little dated, lol!! , but I care not a jot. :)
I trimmed the top piece of paper with my Fiskars scalloped border punch 'Threading Water' and forgot to do the bottom piece...doh!!
All pieces had their corners rounded with a corner rounder punch, no less. I added the sentiment by Clarity Stamps inking with Adirondack 'Cranberry'. 2 little flat backed jewels by Papermania were added to the dots on the 'i's'..ribbon from my stash and to finish it off I added two little mulberry flowers, pulling the stems through the knot of the ribbon.
The start of another great week at 365 Cards.

Colour Create Ch. 23 - Blue & White Vintage

Fairy Stamps - part of a set from QVC
Fairy sentiment - Inca
Lace and pearls which add to the vintage look from my stash
Blue papers - Basic Grey 'Marrakech'
White base card and ribbon also from my stash
Blue hydrangeas - Papermania
Images coloured with a variety of PM's
Wings of the fairies sparkled up with Stickles Icicle and Diamond
The glass of the hand mirror highlighted with Diamond Glaze

365 Cards - Days 139 & 140

Here are my final 2 cards this week, and boy what a struggle with the final one.
Day 139 - Paper Piercing
Day 140 - Paint It!!

Day 139
I had fun with the piercing and did a cute 4" x 4" card.
I daresay I could have done more holes looking at it now, but I can always add.
Ingredients for this:-
Kraft Card - SU
Cream leather look card - from my bit box
Metal spacer - The Hobby House
Ribbon, buttons, flowers, brad and sentiment from my stash.

After finishing the card all bar the piercing I placed my largest square Nestie over the embelished piece and drew lightly around with a soft pencil, I could then pierce in as perfect a square as I could. I pierced the four corners first then halved every space between the holes with a piercing until finished. Any pencil marks can now be rubbed out.

Day 140

Oh! the woes of choosing an unmatchable colour. But the only paint I had was this, then the paper followed quite well, but to embelish was terrible I had stuff on and off and coloured with pens, too late to paint another piece as it wouldn't be dry to scan.
So my offering used these ingredients:-
Green base card - QVC
Backing paper - magazine freebie
Letter 'H' - misc. naked chipboard
Paint - Adirondack pearlised acrylic in 'Bottle'
Overstamping on letter - background stamp by Judikins using Brilliance 'Moonlight White'
Rub-on Sentiment & Sticky flower - Acts of Kindness
White Flower - Green Tara
Huge Brad - Eyelet Outlet
Piece of ribbon from bit box

Note to self - green is very hard to match..lol!!
