Thank You

I have been missing a short while as my mojo went awol too. So I took the opportunity to have a sort out and tidy up of my crafting space. Unlike a lot of you lovely crafty ladies out there, I do not have a room I just have a space in my bedroom with everything overflowing from every nook and cranny it can find, so does need some rearrangement on a very regular basis.

So onto the card I managed to finish last night but was unable to blog because of various gremlins around, leftover from Halloween I daresay.

This card started out as the one for
365 Cards Day 247 - Ad Inspired.........which was a beautiful pic of a thanksgiving wreath in wonderful autumnal colours as you can imagine.
As it is a give thanks card it fits 'thankfully' with the following challenges too.
Simon Says......Give Thanks
Crafty Cardmakers ch7 - Stamp Something using new or fogotten technique (doing my own decoupage is mine)
Pile It On - Thank You
Daring Cardmakers - Getting Krafty...to use Kraft card

Stamps - various mostly misc. but some from QVC
Kraft Card - Lakeland
Ink Pads - Adirondack in various colours
Raffia - out of gardening bag.....lol!!
Sentiment - good ol' faithful Peel-offs

Thanks for stopping by xx

Happy Hallowe'en

The end of another month and ever closer to the end of another year. Where does time go? Why do the days seem so much shorter when you are on the downward side of life's hill? so many questions, so little time...lol!!
Todays cards feature my favourite animal, The Cat, of which I have 3, but they, too, are on the same side of the hill as me, and Charlie even further down. I was up at 5.20 this morning cleaning an accident off the carpet, poor thing he sometimes loses the plot aswell as his bowel control..Ah! well!! that's life.
I digress, onto the cards.
365 Cards Day 245 - 'It's a Matter of Inches', to use an inchie on your card or the inchie to be the card.

I made 3 inchies with images from a rubber stamp by Inca called 'Cat Blocks'
Stamped using Versafine Onyx Black
All card and paper are from the scrap box
Image coloured with ProMarker 'Sandstone'
Embellishments by Daisy Hill & ek Success
Border punch - Martha Stewart 'Embossed Petals'

Tiny Tartan

Another Christmas card made, I could be on a roll here.
This time it is for
Daring Cardmakers - Tartan it Up
Stamp Something - Favourite Sketch

This is one of my favourite Clean & Simple sketches which I use over and over, it is quick and has just enough elements in it to make it look like you've spent more than 10 mins creating it...which it does when you're organised.
I hope there is enough tartan on it to comply with DC challenge..lol!!

Base Card - gorgeous pearly red stardream from Joanna Sheen
Stamp - Penny Black
Colouring medium - watercolour pencils
Glittery Stickles on pom pom and brim of cap and swirled on the floor for snow
Snowflake Nestie embossed white card
Strip of red white & green tartan paper from bits box
Card Candy
Sentiment sticker - Bo-Bunny Press

Russian

Daring Cardmakers
The challenge is to do a Russian inspired card.
"It's Rein here this week and as our Russian girl Irina is here staying with us again my dare is put a matryoshka or another typical Russian element like dress, architecture, or... ..... on your card."
So here is my offering.
Ingredients:-
Both paper and images were downloaded
Sentiment stamp - Hero Arts
Ink Pad - Colorbox Chalk Wisteria
Jewels were added to the centres of some of the dolls on the background paper.
Base card and ribbon from my stash

It's a Snap!

325 Cards Day 125
'It's a snap' refers to the cards' closure so anything other than the ordinary for this one.
I will also combine this with
Daring Cardmakers - 'Blue & Green....shouldn't be seen', but these are so subtle and lovely.

This got my thinking cap on as I haven't done a card with a different kind of closure for ages.
So I went back through my file and found the template and idea for this one.
It is a sort of gate fold card with the fold to one side instead of in the middle.
The papers used are from Basic Grey 'Lilykate' pad, I also coverd a slide mount with a piece of the stripy paper.
I used my Silent Setter to punch holes on each side through both thicknesses and threaded the ribbon through. A jelly sentiment which reads 'Best Bud' was added to the centre of the slide mount, only one I had so not entirely happy with that, it may come off and something else will be added.

May I take this opportunity to wish everyone across the pond A Very Happy 4th of July xxxx...enjoy!!!

'Cos I'm A Woman.....

This is the theme over at Daring Cardmakers, this week. There is a link to this site on the right.
Bette Davis is one of my all time favourite actresses and my favourite film of hers is 'All About Eve'.
So I'll make this card as a tribute to her. The Basic Grey paper 'Scarlett's Letter' is just too gorgeous to cover up so all I did was add the stamped image of Bette with the sentiment from Bo-Bunny Press added...she did have fabulous eyes. Black spotted organza ribbon from my stash ..... et voila...my card.

Ready, Steady, Cook.........

This was the theme at Daring Cardmakers Friday Challenge, so for the recipe the ingredients were:- 3 different papers, at least 1 pce of chipboard, at least 1 button, at least 1 ribbon with an optional extra being an item of your choice.
I enjoyed this as there is nothing to follow only your own imagination. Sometimes not good.
The 3 papers were 2 by CMYK Scrapbook Printdirect in natural + 1 piece of misc. leftover from a 12 x 12 sheet. 2 chipboard brackets by Papermania, 2 buttons from my mum's button tin, and a piece of misc. ribbon threaded through both the buttons. My choice of extra item was a stamped greeting from a stamp by Docrafts in Adirondack Cranberry. Not that happy with it as I want more on it somewhere. :-D

Something Fishy!

I am really playing catch up here, this card was done for last weeks Daring Cardmakers Challenge 'Fish and/or Frog'.
Took ages to find something to fit this challenge but knew there would be something in my treasure chest of stamped images.
The image was coloured with my new Letraset Pro Markers. I am loving these, and will have to get more soon as my palette is a little limited.
The green paper was K & Co. and the metal embelishment is by Linda Maron Mod Designs.

Feeling Green

Managed to combine 3 challenges with this card which is unknown territory for me. Feeling Green on Daring Cardmakers/ Card Sketchaday #152 and my cardmaking forum's Friday Challenge which was Get Well combining a circle or scallop
I do actually like green which seems to be some cardmakers nightmare. Card, paper and jewels from my stash, the rik-rak is Bazzill, the rub-on sentiment is by Scenic Route Paper Co., and the flowers are Prima Forever Flowers and Fresh Bubbles
