Beautiful

I had big plans today to make lots of cards, and you all know what happens with big plans!!..........I ended up making one! It did take a long time though. Reasons will soon become clear.
This card I'm happy to say covers a good few challenges.
365 Cards Day 221 - Imagine This 'Denim', so denim had to feature somehow
Inspirational Card Sketches # 37 - Given Sketch
Crafty Card Makers #5 - Ribbons or Fibres
Pile it On #18 - 3-Dimensional, something not flat on your card

It all started with 365 Cards and the Denim theme...someone had already done a jean's pocket which I had thought of, so I went through my fashion stamps and knew this would be great, I also had a 12 x 12 piece of denim paper, yes girls I've cut into a 12 x 12 to piece this dress..:O!!! A bit of artistic license used here, as I'm sure denim could not be used in a dress and hat like that, denim stilettos I think would work.
I love paper piecing and had good fun but it took sooooo long. The orange parts were cut from the offcuts from making my Pumpkin Card a few days ago.
The 3-D element, I would say, is the sentiment mounted onto dimensionals and there is no way that that huge denim flower is flat...lol!!
The sentiment is great, it says :-
"Nothing makes a Woman more Beautiful
than the Belief that she is Beautiful" ~~ Sophia Loren

Black & White

365 Card Day 186 - Ad. Inspired

Another grey matter stirrer, and had to think long and hard over this.
I felt the shoes in the ad. were made from a lovely grey/black wool tweed material or something with that look about it.
The only paper I could find that came anywhere near was this piece I used which had a hammered texture and a sort of gunmetal sheen and when I ripped it it had a lovely black core, so that was my starting point.
The red rose stickers are by Anna Griffin and the shoe stamp by Hero Arts.
I wanted to use black lace, but noticed another girl had used that idea so chose to use instead the black daisy trimming.
The sentiment to finish it off is by Inkadinkadoo
Both stamps stamped with Versafine Onyx Black

Fashion

This card was done for Chocoholic's Friday Challenge on my Crafting Forum
It just had to be anything to do with fashion and I have had this stamp for ages and it hasn't seen the light of day for a number of years....shameful.
It's by Crafting Pastimes
Sentiment stamp by Inkadinkadoo.
Both stamped with Versafine Onyx Black which is my favoured ink pad.
The image was coloured using PM's Pastel Yellow & Lime for the clothes and Raw Sienna for the hair and Copics Pinkish White & Blush for the flesh.
The floral paper is Basic Grey 'Scarlet's Letter' and the top piece of paper which I have cut around the swirl pattern is out of my bits box.
Ribbon DCWV
Base card from my stash
This image reminds me of the late fifties and I wore girls versions of this sort of style with lots of net petticoats underneath to make it stick out. You could get petties with hoops in and even a sponge foam one....lol!!...ah! those were the days. :)

She said, and I quote...

365 Cards - Day 138
To use a quote on your card

Oh! lovely, I have lots of quote stamps, just which to choose was my dilemma.
So I chose this one by Dawn Houser for Inkadinkadoo...a lovely quote by Henry David Thoreau
I knew just the papers I wanted to use for this too from Basic Grey.
The winter stems of what looks to me like Cow Parsley is from the 'Offbeat' pad and the lovely spotty one which looks like snow is from my new 'June Bug' pad.
I stamped the quote onto a piece of textured white card using Adirondack Denim and wrapped some shimmery knitted chain cord around...Voila! done.
Oh! do love that little buzzy bee :)

Something Edible.......

This was the theme over at Papertake Weekly Challenge. I'm trying to do a few plainer cards if I can to get away from the busy, busy, busy that I have been doing lately.
The pale green Bazzill card was covered along the bottom with a scrap of paper out of my box a leftover piece of ribbon and - dare I say - 4 black peel-off squares ( I can see you all recoiling in horror as I type) turned on their point to reflect the diamond pattern in the paper. The Penny Black Image is out of my swap file and was coloured using PM's. The fly was the top half of a sentiment stamp by Inkadinkadoo...I just love it.
