Friends...

A lovely sketch over at 365 Cards  it being Day 253 and Super Sketchy Sunday....yet again.
Pam has been really kind to us today.
So here it is :-

....and here's what I did with it :-

I am loving using Kraft card at the moment and find all colours go with it so well.
Kraft card - Lakeland
Vintage Sticker - Anna Griffin
Faux stitching rub-ons - Doodlebug
Text Rub-on - DCWV
Other pieces of card from my bit box, the burgundy left over from my card a couple of days ago, the Duo one.

That's all I'm blogging today, I did a couple more but they leave a lot to be desired so may need a bit of TLC or rehashing.
Thanks for stopping by.

Get Well Soon

Oh! what a sketch over at 365 Cards day 197 - which of course is Super Sketchy Sunday, a start of another week in the calendar of cardmaking.
I found this sketch difficult to work with but finally came up with something for someone who is feeling under the weather.
The papers are Kay & Co 'Sparkly Sweet'
The border stamp is by All Night Media an Anna Griffin design
The corner diamond stamp is misc from a grab bag.
The ink pads I used - Impress 'Old Rose', Versamagic 'Tea Leaves' and 'Hint of Pesto'
The die cut butterfly which I embellished with flat backed pearls, the die cut oval and base card were out of my stash. And good ol' peel offs for the sentiment.
I could have done without the corner stamps and maybe have done something else, but too late it's done.

Black & White

365 Card Day 186 - Ad. Inspired

Another grey matter stirrer, and had to think long and hard over this.
I felt the shoes in the ad. were made from a lovely grey/black wool tweed material or something with that look about it.
The only paper I could find that came anywhere near was this piece I used which had a hammered texture and a sort of gunmetal sheen and when I ripped it it had a lovely black core, so that was my starting point.
The red rose stickers are by Anna Griffin and the shoe stamp by Hero Arts.
I wanted to use black lace, but noticed another girl had used that idea so chose to use instead the black daisy trimming.
The sentiment to finish it off is by Inkadinkadoo
Both stamps stamped with Versafine Onyx Black

365 x 2

Time for a bit of a catch up over at 365 Cards after a wonderful day yesterday at the wedding of my son Barney and his beautiful fiancee Elen. I only took a few terrible snapshots as my camera is so old and I had to do them from wherever I was sitting at the time. So I will show some better ones when I get the official photographer ones.
So on with what I have been catching up with
Day 180 - Going Vintage, so a vintage image needed here
Day 181 - White Space, a given sketch where only the black portions could be decorated however we want
180

The vintage image is from a misc. pictorial rubber stamp. Which led to me getting out my Anna Griffin vintage looking paper and some lace. I finished off with some glittery stickers from my stash adding a little piece of pink ribbon and a word sticker by Kay & Co.

181
I thought border stamps when I saw the sketch and dug out these ancient SU stamps (1998) which I inked up wuth Versafine Onyx black and coloured with PM's and Copics, I had fun doing this as colouring always takes me back to my childhgood.
The lettering was from some oddment of rub-ons and a few dots with a pen. I smooshed round the edges of the card pieces with Adirondack 'Meadow'

Crafting in the night................

Well I was up until 1.30am last night finishing this and then I lost internet connection...which made me very grumpy...so here it is, for what it's worth..which was blood, sweat and tears.

365 Cards Day 170 - 'Double Duty'
Which means it has to double as a gift or something else at least, but no voucher holders!

I have been gathering seeds over the summer from my garden - what summer? - and had the idea to pass them on so this challenge lit up a light bulb in my head.
I made a sort of concertina book to hold all the little packets of seeds so lovingly collected.

Ingredients:-
2 pieces of grey card for front and back frrom my bottomless box
6 Vellum envelopes
large peice of Kraft wrapping paper
PP's - Basic Grey 'Offbeat'
Sentiments - a mix of Clarity Stamps, Hero Arts, and computer generated
Floral images - Penny Black 'Christmas Colour'(front cover) and Great Impressions (back cover)
Paper to cover front and back boards - a lovely piece of Mango Soft
Ribbon - Grograin: SU 'Always Artichoke' silk: Anna Griffin
Tags from my stash

Being so late in the night and so tired I just snapped away with my camera at my work table, so apologies, as always, for the poor pics.

One day I will surprise you with the most amazing photography, but the cards will still be the same..lol!!

Touch of Toile

365 Cards - Day 168
I think I may be able to combine this with Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge too - 'Fancy Corners'....will 1 corner count I wonder? :)
What a wonderful challenge this turned out to be as I dug out my box of Anna Griffin stash and used it all on the card....just remembered I have forgotten to glitter, I know we didn't have to but I did wanted to glitter around some of the paper just with some Stickles to give it a bit of bling, so take it from me girls that is what I will be doing after the event.
The Anna Griffin ribbon for this was from a set called 'Hannah' and I love it. The lace corner is 'Georgette'.
Don't we get used to clear stamps....I had great trouble trying to stamp this wood mounted A.G. one and to get it central, but hand crafted cards aren't meant to be perfect are they?
The only thing that is not Anna Griffin is the little MoP button and the thread.
I stamped up the frame with Versamagic Chalk Ink in 'Niagara Mist'
I used a Clean & Simple Sketch #55

Inspiration

365 Cards Day 156 - Ad Inspired....
Great picture to give the inspiration
I just drew from the general colours and shapes of the items...plus, of course, the beautiful tulips.
I have used lots of bits out of my offcuts folder and the container for the tulips is cut from a sample of wall covering.
The tulip sticker is by Anna Griffin
Buttons are by Hero Arts
Sentiment stamp - PSX using Versafine Black Onyx ink

This was very satisfying as it used up bits and cost only pennies to make.

I dedicate it to 365 Cards for bringing me out of my crafting shell.

Scraplift Saturday

365 Cards Day 147
To select one of the DT's cards and scraplift it.

Boy Oh! Boy!! I struggled with this.
I chose one of lovely Amy's cards and although I just about did it, I couldn't take a decent photo of it. Poor photo, sorry.
The papers I chose were some lovely vintagy Anna Griffin florals. I really enjoyed making the flower and scrunched it up an teased into frilly pleats then edges each layer with Orange glitter glue. The sentiment is by Hero Arts and I didn't have what Amy used as the main card but used thick parchment instead.

Favourite Things

This card, last for today, covers 2 challenges.
Papertake Weekly Challenge - My Favourite Things
Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge - given sketch

The sketch by Jane was lovely and made a good base to fill the card with some of my favourite things being :-
Rubber stamps I have too many to think about and have grown to love these Magnolia Tilda, took a while to come to terms with no mouth. The lovely little PSX Pixie stamps which I have all 4 sets of are great little sentiments.
Versafine Black Onyx ink pad.
Basic Grey Papers, these being LilyKate and Urban Prairie
Pearls, gems and card candy love them all
Ribbon - this is a piece of real silk by Anna Griffin
Bazzill Card - you can't get any better in my opinion
Pink & Green - I love this colour combo and even though I keep venturing out into the big wide world of colour I come back to the delicate colours of an apple blossom tree.
So those apart from my cats are among my favourite things.

Tulips

Another great sketch over at Mojo Monday this being wk 91.
I'm determined to get this done in time too. Last weeks was too late :-(
No stamped images so no colouring, just a lazy sort of piece together job which is so relaxing for a change.
Transparent sticky image of Tulips - Anna Griffin
Oval frame sticker (with great matching tulip) - Kay & Company 'Romanza'
Green paper - very old misc. download
Pink Striped paper - Doodlebug
Flourishes stamp - Basic Grey
Ink Pad - Adirondack 'Stained Glass'
Sentiment - Letraset Rub-on
Base card & ribbon from my stash

Thanks for taking the time out looking x

Card Recipe

Day 103 on 365 Cards is a Card Recipe...I love these.
Ingredients to be used :-
1 A2 sized card - solid background
2 Patterned Papers
3 Jewels
and
A Stamped Sentiment

So I made my recipe using :-
Anna Griffin Card blank cut to size
2 Basic Grey Papers
3 Doodlebug Jewels
and the sentiment from my stash of misc. unm. stamps...bad girl.
Stamped using Versafine Onyx Black

This was far harder than I imagined, how to make a card look acceptable with so few elements was a journey in itself lol!!
But it's not bad :-)

Music and Dance

This was the title of this weeks Cute Card Thursday challenge and was really pleased as I have had this image from a swap for years and never used it. So this was just perfect. The image was coloured with Sakura gel pens mounted on various shades of Bazzill cardstock. The stamped image in the Nestie scalloped circle was a freebie with a very old Craft Stamper magazine. The brads were from my stash. The very faint stamped image on the middle back panel was a stamp by Anna Griffin All Night Media...a huge music score background stamp. I stamped it in Adirondack 'Rust'.

Shaped Cards..............

These cards were done for a Forum competition 'Shaped Cards'
The Fan card was done with a rubber stamp by Friends Stamps 'Angie Bhatia' and the small Japanese images are by Clarity Imagina
The screen card was done with a home-made template and a various assortment of stamps and embelishments including Clarity Imagina, Hero Arts, Anna Griffin and K & Co. 'Kim Hodges' papers.
The pyramid was made from another hand-made template and decorated and heat embossed in gold with Egyptian stamped images all from Clarity Imagina
These sort of cards are very difficult to get a good photograph of unless you have some sort of fancy lighting system so hope you just get the general idea of these.
Thanks for looking.

Weekends Witterings

Well, These are the cards I made yesterday.

The first is just a play with old stash, as I hate to throw anything away, even freebie papers in mags., and using my newish Nestabilities which I adore, really need the round ones now. The teasel stamp is by Stamps Away c1049

The 2nd card was using the new Laura Ashley paper that our forum 'Fairy Godmother' sent me. They are all stunning, I have yet to use any of the matching fabric covered brads. The ribbon is by DCWV 'Old World'. I scalloped the edge of the green card with Fiskars 'cloud' edgers and labouriously punched the holes with a Fiskars hole punch. Sentiment from a selection of swaps off the craft forum.

The 3rd card is using some gorgeous Basic Grey papers I have had stashed away for ages. The wasp/bee sticker is by Anna Griffin and the little word stamp is from a set by PSX
