365 Spoonfuls of Passion.....

This is my title for a combo of 365 Cards theme 'Oh! Boy' - Spoonful of Sugar's Sketch and Passion for Promarkers colours this week-----Royal Blue and Berry Red.
I adored doing this card as everything went together so well.
The sketch by Michelle O. over at Spoonful of Sugar was challenge 56 and was great to do.
The theme of a 'Oh! Boy' over at 365 Cards at first daunted me, as I don't have much call for boys cards.
But............
Then I remembered that this weeks colour scheme on Passion for Promarkers was red and blue and it all fell together as the image of football came straight into my mind.
So the ingredients used are :-

Tulips

Another great sketch over at Mojo Monday this being wk 91.
I'm determined to get this done in time too. Last weeks was too late :-(
No stamped images so no colouring, just a lazy sort of piece together job which is so relaxing for a change.

So Girly

Day 107 over on 365 Cards is Pam's Challenge 'Girl' which you may guess is to make a very girly card with the word GIRL somewhere on it.
I have had this stamp some time and thought it ideal for this. I love my artsy stamps and seem to collect them but not use them as I am not 'arty' but adore seeing peeps arty cards and long to be able to think outside the box and go all Bohemian on you all lol!!
So for info here are my ingredients :-
Stamp - Stampington - stamped onto small pce of Basic Grey

Sentiment Tag - Kay & company
Ink to swoosh around edges of card - Adirondack Ginger
Flat backed pearls, ribbon, corner stamp, base card and pce of brown dotty card from my stash

Super Sketchy Sunday - Day 106

Well the start of another week over on 365 Cards, I wonder how many I'll get done this week.
And while doing it I remembered how much I dislike heat embossing white pwder on dark card :-( No matter how hard I tried with my tiny paintbrush I couldn't get rid of all the stray powder, especially hard with a sentiment.
I came up with the colour scheme after finding the only large oval I had cut was in red, but there always has to be a starting place.
The paper is a scrap piece.
The sentiment is by Clarity Stamps
The flat backed pearls by Papermania.

In The Jungle....

This weeks #36 challenge At Secret Crafter is to be a jungle animal...so debated whether a zebra is found in the jungle!!
But it is a wild animal so think he will do.
I created the whole thing using the masking technique and lots of sponging. The 3 separate areas were then outlined on one side with soft pencil to make them 'pop' out as if they are postcards.
The zebra stamp is by Stampabilities.
The dot background stamp is by Hero Arts
The sentiment stamp is also by Stampabilities
The base card is Bazzill, everything else from my stash.

Rainbow Connection

Day 105 over on 365 Cards is Singalong Saturday and is a challenge to do a card which springs to mind on hearing the song 'Rainbow Connection'.
I had real fun doing this and I am honestly loving this blog as for some reason it is bringing out things from the depths..lol!! of Me and my stash!
The paper, would you believe, is a download from Kraft Cardz with the date 2005 :-O
How perfect is that for this challenge.
I am not an artist, but I love to play, so I swooshed rainbow coloured misc. pigment ink stamps across a piece of white card and heat embossed it with clear emb. powder, then cut it into an arc with my Fiskars hand cutter.
The stamped images of the pot and the flower were in my stash of swapped images, which I appear to have coloured using Sakura Gel Gloss pens. The stem and leaves are leftover pieces of Anitas sticky ribbon, I waste nothing.
The sentiment is by Hero Arts and I matted & layered it on colours of the rainbow bits of card, that was hard, I'm not the best cutter in the world either.
So there you are my take on 'Rainbow Connection'....a rather fun, naive sort of card which I thoroughly enjoyed making.

Imagine This : Grass

This is today's theme - Day 104 - over at 365 Cards.
I remember doing this sort of card about 18 months ago, so delved into the dusty corners of my mind to retrieve as many bits as I could remember.
The card stock is from my stash...yes! blue & green should be seen :-)....and I cut the green piece with my Fiskars cutting wheel, not very cleverly.
The rubber stamp I used for the grass is a flourish by Dawn Bibby which I stamped in Adirondack 'Meadow'
The butterfly is by Funstamps which I stamped in Adirondack 'Red Pepper' and 'Ginger' adding misc. pearls in brown to the body and red to the centre of the wings.
The sentiment by Stampabilities was stamped in 'Meadow' too.
I added the flight path of the butterfly by hand with an 03 drawing pen and topped the edge of the grass bank with a green Marvy Le Plume pen.
Job done...:-)
That's enough for today, methinks, off for a cuppa and bed and read my book [Harry Potter]...Night-Night!!

Dragonfly for Day 99

So loved this sketch over at 365 Cards but may be too late to get my card in.
I love this blog and it's all Mandy's fault lol!!
We had to follow the Super Sketchy Sunday sketch and add a drogonfly.
The papers, dragonfly and little Bee are all Kay & co 'Daisy'.
The sentiment /flower stamp is Hero Arts.
I used Marvy Le Plume pens to ink the stamp

2 Nestie label shapes cut and embossed and layered with dimensionals, the little window idea in the Nestie was from a wonderful blog called Amazing Paper Grace.

Card Recipe

Day 103 on 365 Cards is a Card Recipe...I love these.

This was far harder than I imagined, how to make a card look acceptable with so few elements was a journey in itself lol!!
But it's not bad :-)

Daring Cardmakers last friday had this great theme and where has the week gone?
This is a 10 minute quickie with a Penny Black image that was already coloured with Sakura pens by the look of the sparkle.

Pink & Brown

Another new challenge blog for me is Charisma Cards Thursday Craft Challenge and their challenge #22 is a Colour Combo ' Pink & Brown'.....love those colours.
The stamp is by Sugar Nellie and I coloured her with ProMarkers, I didn't note down the colours, but there is Blossom, Pastel Pink, Cinnamon and vanilla for sure, she was matted onto a spare piece of Basic Grey....I love to use up bits.
All other items are out of my stash.
That's the problem, once they're out of the packet you can't remember who makes them.

This is the first chance I've had to use this new stamp I bought at Happy Stampers Show in Port Sunlight at the beginning of May...just perfect for these colours, and I have done a DL card just for a change, sort of mirrored the the length of the cat.

What a refreshing change.....

I ordered a couple of bits of stash and they arrived today in double quick time and look how beautifully they are wrapped, I almost don't want to open them....well almost. Lol!!...and the name of these delightful people....Craftie-Charlie and here is their link

Great recipe over at Funky Fairies Challenge 19.

I downloaded 4 FF papers...they are 4 different, but 2 look alike on the scan, the flowers are Prima 'Larkspur', everything else from my stash.
The square which I used for the rub-on sentiment was cut and embossed using a square 'Nestie'
Because of the bulkiness of the knotted ribbon and button the scan is poor and has caused shadowing...it definately looks better in the flesh.
It was such a nice change to do something without a stamped image.
I have now tried to do a photo to see if it looks any better.

Oriental Bling

Chocoholic's Friday Challenge this week on the forum was 'Oriental' and over on Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge was 'Bling' so I combined the two and arrived at this card.
One of the girl's cards reminded me that black and red were ideal for Oriental cards so this was a relief at not having to colour an image.
The image was from a swap years ago and love it's elegance, so is nice left in black the red card is a lovely shimmery one called Stardream from Joanna Sheen and the red cord is a very blingy red so hope those 2 count as the bling for the 2nd challenge.
The paper was with the prize I won on the forum a couple of months ago.
There is a story behind the use of the flowers too....on cutting around the stamped image my blade dragged the card and ripped it...but I am not one to be beaten, nor do I bin anything...so I thought what can I use to cover up the little rips and came up with the idea of using my craft knife to open up a slit at her hand and poking in the stems of the flowers....hooray! I think it worked.

Summer Time

 
A lovely sketch over at Mojo Monday, their no. 89 and a contest.
The beautiful sunny weather got me and I just had to use this stamp which I've had for a while because I love the picture. But it has come into it's own with the sunshine. I used some thin cork to mat the image and for below the rik-rak to look like sand.
