Peek-a-Boo to You

365 Cards Day 152
This was to create a card with a fun flap somewhere on the card.
Oh! how I had fun making this today.
It's left me worn out though!!

It took me a long time to come up with the idea, but once I came upon the book of ephemera amongst all my dated stash, which has the date of 2004 on it and never been used, I knew where I was going with this. The 6 x 6 book is by Plaid and called Paper Journeys.
The stripey paper is by Laura Ashley and the idea behind using that was to resemble deck chair canvas.
I started with 5 little pages, but thought that a little over generous and cut it down to 3, which is plenty enough. These pages show all the adults having fun on their holiday by the sea. So the poor little chappie on the front has every right to be down in the dumps and want his friends.
I edged the pages and card with Tim Holtz Distress Ink Pad in Tea Dye and don't know why I do this, everyone else who does it achieves the desired effect...me?...nah!! always looks liked I've slipped with the pad and it looks messy.
I also dug out more peel-offs for the hinges. I will not throw these away, after buying them all those years ago I am determined they will be used. Frugal, that's me.....waste not, want not!!
Ribbons, sentiment tag and flat backed pearls (why use those?...'cos I can :D) from my stash.

Dream....

HM & Friends
This sketch was over at House Mouse & Friends Challenge and I have a few HM images I am able to use. The one used here is heat embossed in gold.
The papers are a mixture of Kay & Co. and Laura Ashley
The cat and dream bubbles just came to me out of the blue when the card was near completion and I needed a sentiment of some kind in the main square in the middle, nothing seemed apt until I thought of what would want a golden mousey....just got to be a cat. Inked them with Versafine Antique Sepia et Voila!!!
Sentiment and cat stamp misc. from my stash. also the card and green flat-backed pearls.

Celebration

A great sketch over at Cute Cards Thursday Challenge 51 this week. It is called Celebration to mark their anniversary. Congratulations CCT.
I actually chopped a huge bloom up for this, something unknown for me. Just so fed up of trying to get perfect circles so adapted something else circular for a change. The papers used are Basic Grey Lilykate and the large fabric covered brad in the centre of the bloom is by Laura Ashley, the stamp used for the sentiment is by Hero Arts, stamped in Pesto Adirondack ink - everything else out of my stash.
The whole card evolved around the tag which was just waiting to be used for ages, and so this sketch with the tag included was the very thing, thanks CCT.
The scan is poor because of the bulkiness of the brad...apologies.

Friday Sketchers 43

This week sponsored by CreaVil, and it was a lovely sketch. I used my new Sugar Nellie stamp 'Talking to the Birds' which is very versatile as I can remove the bird house and branch and use that seperately. The image I coloured with PM's and mounted onto a piece of Bazzill cards. This was then mounted just offset on a piece of Laura Ashley paper. Finished off with Prima flowers and misc, grograin ribbon and Kaisercraft Pearls which I received yesterday form a crafting buddy.

This Little Piggy.......

...Messed be about good and proper.
This was a great sketch over at Sketch Saturday, being #41 Ria's Week, sponsored by Funky Fairy's Papercrafts.
Really enjoy doing sketches as it takes a lot of the brain drain out of making a card and only leaves you with choosing the elements to use.
Which were........Green card by Bazzill, Stamped image Penny Black, Papers by Laura Ashley, loving those, and flowers by Prima. The butterflies were cut from the Laura Ashley paper too and mounted on a Glue Dot with wings a-flutter. Cream card, gems and pearls out of my stash....and the sentiment I typed up myself on Word.
So, you are wondering, where was the messing about. Well it was trying to scan or photo it. I am stuck for choice which image to upload the over bright scan or the dull and squiffy photo - no sun and it kept blowing in the wind.
I'll choose the scan and be damned. LOL!!

Mojo Monday No 72

Pleased I'm managing to keep up with these, so far, anyway. I'm determined I'm not going to lose my new found mojo.
Enjoyed this sketch, but intended to punch some holes along the scalloped edges of the card, then I stuck them on....doh!!
The image is Penny Black, the green card is Bazzill, the paper and large fabric covered brad is Laura Ashley and the flowers are Prima. Ribbon, pebble word and pink card just stash finds.
The scan is poor I'm afraid because of the large brad, I'm rubbish at taking photos of my cards. Need some hints and tips methinks.

Weekends Witterings

Well, These are the cards I made yesterday.

The first is just a play with old stash, as I hate to throw anything away, even freebie papers in mags., and using my newish Nestabilities which I adore, really need the round ones now. The teasel stamp is by Stamps Away c1049

The 2nd card was using the new Laura Ashley paper that our forum 'Fairy Godmother' sent me. They are all stunning, I have yet to use any of the matching fabric covered brads. The ribbon is by DCWV 'Old World'. I scalloped the edge of the green card with Fiskars 'cloud' edgers and labouriously punched the holes with a Fiskars hole punch. Sentiment from a selection of swaps off the craft forum.

The 3rd card is using some gorgeous Basic Grey papers I have had stashed away for ages. The wasp/bee sticker is by Anna Griffin and the little word stamp is from a set by PSX
