Scraplift Saturday

365 Cards Day 147
To select one of the DT's cards and scraplift it.

Boy Oh! Boy!! I struggled with this.
I chose one of lovely Amy's cards and although I just about did it, I couldn't take a decent photo of it. Poor photo, sorry.
The papers I chose were some lovely vintagy Anna Griffin florals. I really enjoyed making the flower and scrunched it up an teased into frilly pleats then edges each layer with Orange glitter glue. The sentiment is by Hero Arts and I didn't have what Amy used as the main card but used thick parchment instead.

Mirror Me!

365 Cards - Day 146
The idea was to create symmetry on your card.
Harder than I thought.
So had to keep it clean and simple.
Corner Sentiment stamp by Clarity stamps was ideal for stamping twice to create the square. I used Adirondack in 'Denim'
A Delft tile was mounted on dimensionals in the centre.
Sticky backed ribbon by Anita's was then stuck down around the 4 sides and this is when you find out you haven't quite cut out a completely square card...lol!!

365 Cards Catch Up

Day 143/144 Combo - 'Keep It To Yourself - Sympathy', NO sentiment on the front./ 'You Raise Me Up' card to show 2 ways of using dimension
For 143 I used Tapestry stamps image and cut around to suggest a wreath and used a stamped rose (misc.) in the centre, just finished off with a piece of navy grograin ribbon.
For 144 I mounted the rose on dimensionals to lift but also used Glossy Accents to suggest dew drops on the rose and leaves.

Day 145 - 'Ad Inspired' super picture of a pillow which we were to use to give us inspiration for our card.

Missing but not Lost

After 3.5 days without a modem I am going to be playing catch up big time.
I went into meltdown without my cyber fix and glad my new router didn't take the 5 days to arrive as was a possibility.
So this late card is for:-
365 Cards Day 142 Movie Monday -
To interpret the movie 'Twilight'
and
Charysma Cardz Thursday #28 sketch, but am now late for this
Well for 365 CardsI haven't read the books or seen the movie so went by my gut instinct of someone mentioning vampire and the colour of the pic posted.
The specific for this was :-
Black card base, paper to be predominently red and to add glitter or gems....hope I've remembered that correctly.
PP - Basic Grey 'Scarlet's Letter'
Sentiment - portion of a Hero Arts stamp 'Inspirational Prints'
Ink Pad - Brilliance 'Moonlight White' - very apt.
Everything else from my stash

365 Cards - Day 141

Super Sketchy Sunday today and here is the sketch.
This was lovely and painless.
Feeling below par atm, like the golf I'm watching. lol!!

But as I type this the sun is starting to shine which makes a blessed relief from the amount of rain we have had lately, so much for our summer!!!
Anyway, I digress....the starting point for this card was the Nestie die cut scalloped oval in two sizes....the only two left in my box of spares. So that shade of pink dictated the rest of the card.
The Card stock is Bazzill Basics, not sure of the shade. The pp's are HOTP, years old, but I throw nothing away, so sometimes you may think my cards look a little dated, lol!! , but I care not a jot. :)
I trimmed the top piece of paper with my Fiskars scalloped border punch 'Threading Water' and forgot to do the bottom piece...doh!!
All pieces had their corners rounded with a corner rounder punch, no less. I added the sentiment by Clarity Stamps inking with Adirondack 'Cranberry'. 2 little flat backed jewels by Papermania were added to the dots on the 'i's'..ribbon from my stash and to finish it off I added two little mulberry flowers, pulling the stems through the knot of the ribbon.
The start of another great week at 365 Cards.

Fairy sentiment - Inca
Lace and pearls which add to the vintage look from my stash
Blue papers - Basic Grey 'Marrakech'
White base card and ribbon also from my stash

Wings of the fairies sparkled up with Stickles Icicle and Diamond
The glass of the hand mirror highlighted with Diamond Glaze

365 Cards - Days 139 & 140

Here are my final 2 cards this week, and boy what a struggle with the final one.
Day 139 - Paper Piercing
Day 140 - Paint It!!

Day 139
I had fun with the piercing and did a cute 4" x 4" card.
I daresay I could have done more holes looking at it now, but I can always add.
Ingredients for this:-
Kraft Card - SU
Cream leather look card - from my bit box
Metal spacer - The Hobby House
Ribbon, buttons, flowers, brad and sentiment from my stash.

After finishing the card all bar the piercing I placed my largest square Nestie over the embelished piece and drew lightly around with a soft pencil, I could then pierce in as perfect a square as I could. I pierced the four corners first then halved every space between the holes with a piercing until finished. Any pencil marks can now be rubbed out.

Day 140

Oh! the woes of choosing an unmatchable colour. But the only paint I had was this, then the paper followed quite well, but to embelish was terrible I had stuff on and off and coloured with pens, too late to paint another piece as it wouldn't be dry to scan.
So my offering used these ingredients:-
Green base card - QVC
Backing paper - magazine freebie
Letter 'H' - misc. naked chipboard
Paint - Adirondack pearlised acrylic in 'Bottle'
Overstamping on letter - background stamp by Judikins using Brilliance 'Moonlight White'
Rub-on Sentiment & Sticky flower - Acts of Kindness
White Flower - Green Tara
Huge Brad - Eyelet Outlet
Piece of ribbon from bit box

Note to self - green is very hard to match..lol!!

She said, and I quote...

365 Cards - Day 138
To use a quote on your card

Oh! lovely, I have lots of quote stamps, just which to choose was my dilemma.
So I chose this one by Dawn Houser for Inkadinkadoo...a lovely quote by Henry David Thoreau
I knew just the papers I wanted to use for this too from Basic Grey.
The winter stems of what looks to me like Cow Parsley is from the 'Offbeat' pad and the lovely spotty one which looks like snow is from my new 'June Bug' pad.
I stamped the quote onto a piece of textured white card using Adirondack Denim and wrapped some shimmery knitted chain cord around...Voila! done.
Oh! do love that little buzzy bee :)

Thank You Miss!

Cute Card Thursday ch. 68
A quickie 10 minute card, for this challenge.
A piece of doubled red stardream card cut into an apple shape leaving the left side uncut. A piece of green cut using the stem as template and gluing over....add sticky sentiment to finish....Voila!!
I think any teacher would be happy to receive that.
I may just put this in for our forum July challenge. :)

I'm in a Bind!

365 Cards - Day 137
To bind two pieces of something (card, plastic etc) to create a card.

I chose to use my Fiskars hole punch and to use spotty paper as it is easier to space the holes.
Pink Bazzill Basics card topped by misc. magazine freebie pink spotty paper, punched through and tied using metallic thread by Madeira No10 Color 0313
I used a piece of Anita's sticky backed ribbon to cover the join and added two cardboard embelishments by Making Memories to finish it off.

What's the Buzz?....

Funky Fairy's Challenge 24
It's a recipe, woohoo! I love recipes

Ingredients :-
4 x Papers.........check
3 x embelishments..check
2 x punched shapes.check
1 x image..........check

I downloaded Funky Fairies swirly papers in 4 different shades on 1 A4 sheet and cut a square out of the centre so that I got 4 equal squares.
The 3 embelishments are the ribbon, the bee charm and the sentiment tag....all from my stash
Used 2 different Woodware punches to cut the 2 scalloped circles
The image which was downloaded from Pink Petticoat was in the top circle and coloured using Sakura Gelly Roll pens
The cream scalloped base card is (I think) Craft Creations.

...Cooked! :)

Woodware 2" scalloped circle punch
Woodware 1.5" circle punch

365 Cards...Challenge Day 135

Well I'm playing catch-up as this is yesterdays challenge
'Card to incorporate a see through window of some sort'
I have done a shaker card and hope it will slip through the rule net.
I had to think long and hard over this as I haven't done a card with a window or used acetate for years...oh! the shame...all these techniques and I hardly ever step outside of my box.
The idea for this card is from one I did a few years back.
And I remember why I don't do them now LOL!! :-
The acetate shaker 'bubble' was slightly filled with a couple of flowers a punched swirl and some accent micro beads and backed with a piece of the patterned paper before being inserted into a pre-cut aperture in the piece of plainish card....oh! the joy of accent beads sticking to where they were not supposed to be stuck and staticly clinging to the acetate in all manner of silly ways and jumping out when I tried to stick the DST on ...never again.
Ingredients :-
Papers & white card - Basic Grey 'Cupcake'
Base Card - Misc. from stash
Wording - Tim Holtz Junkitz epoxy stickerz
Accent micro beads, flowers, acetate shaker bubble, ribbon and clip all from my stash.
The mini swirly flourishes were cut using my Woodware punch

I apologize yet again for the poor photography, but I have since found a tutorial on how to make a light box for photography so you won't have to wait much longer for a, hopefully, decent piccy.
I will still scan flat cards though. :D
